Thanksgiving and Emma's Birthday

We have so much to be thankful for; family, friends, a warm cozy house, good food!  I give thanks everyday for all these good gifts, but it is nice to set a day apart to celebrate in a special way God's goodness to us.

Our Thanksgiving bonfire was a bit wild!.  Raphael and Felix had to take turn protecting our satellite antenna from threatening sparks.  It was hot standing up there!  One of the garden post caught on fire!  Yikes!  But there was plenty of big boys (men, really) to take control of the situation.

Emma turned two the day before Thanksgiving.  As you can see she wasn't quite comfortable standing there with all of us singing Happy Birthday both in French and English.

But she soon cheered up when she received her little mouse, and her set of baby farm animals.  Her favorite was the calf (which she called a cow).  The mouse is from the book Phoebe's Sweater.  I had so much fun knitting it.

One big, crazy, happy family!

Now, unless you think we are just a serious bunch, take a look at these. Yesterday, Clark treated us to his piano playing while the kids had their usual wild rumpuses! I have quite a collection of these videos and one day I will put some of them on my sidebars, but for now here are some from yesterday.

BTW, Clark can not see the kids when he plays.

Here comes Daddy Xavier and baby Emma!

Augustin and Kristie are expecting!

Since I do have a picture of Augustin and Kristie from the wedding reception last weekend, I am tickled to be able to announce that they are expecting a baby for late April. Oh, how we love babies!

Congratulations Gabriel and Shannon!

Saturday November 15, Gabriel and Shannon were united in the sacrament of Holy Matrimony.
It was a beautiful wedding! I will post more pictures when I can get my hands on some.

Sara Is Now a Published Author!

As you probably have noticed, I am way behind here in my announcements. I guess the old saying holds true; better later then never. So although I am a few months late I am very excited to share that Sara has been published in one of the oldest and most prestigious literary magazine in the country! She is beyond herself to have her poem included in a magazine that once published Robert Frost while still alive. Her contribution appears along with poems from past and current US Laureate Poet, and other award winner recipients. What a remarkable beginning!

She was inspired by a piece of blues music entitled St James Infirmary. The name and mood of the piece were her true inspiration, not the lyrics.

If you are kind enough to excuse the deplorable state of our piano, in dire need of repair, take a moment to hear Clark playing the piece for us. Do keep in mind that the piano is in a dreadful state, truly a disgrace to Clark's talent.

I hope your internet connection will allow you to listen all the way to the last notes, it IS truly inspiring! How I wish I could share Sara's poem with you, but because of copyrights I can't for now.

Xavier and Kelly

Please join me in congratulatating Xavier and Kelly who are expecting a little one for November 28. We can't wait to kiss his or her sweet little head. Children are such a blessing.

This little one would be our first grandchild, but since Xavier is taking sweet Madalyn (Kelly's 3 years old little girl) under his wing that would make her our first grandchild.

In her honor I made this montage. To Maddy, a sweet little fairy princess.
