National Apron Day
and
Feast Day of St Matthias

Today is National Apron Day! Friends are sharing pictures of their aprons. I am a big apron fan, so we have aprons for every seasons. Just recently, I made some for Spring. I just love the way they hang in the kitchen near the dishes.

Mine is reversible.

Here is a close view of the lace at the neck. I feel so feminine wearing it!

I used Simplicity 4282, Lydia and I both want to do some of the other styles. They are all so lovely!

Here are the little boys' aprons. I didn't use a pattern for those, they are very simple.

Lydia still has to put hers together.

Today is also the Feast Day of St Matthias.

A special day for our own Matthias.

Happy Mother's Day!

On the table this morning was this pink Peace Rose with a card Lydia made. I want to treasure the memorie of it all year; to put a smile on my face and peace in my heart.

On this Feast of Our Lady of Fatima, may all mothers feel the protection and guidance of our Blessed Mother in Heaven.

Laurence is 5!

I can't believe my youngest one is already 5! Although yesterday was a bittersweet day for me, Laurence was glowing with happiness. His special day started like all little ones' birthday here; with the table all beckoned with shining presents.

He spent the morning playing with his new toys, and in the afternoon we all went to the park. Being a country boy, this truly was a treat for him!

The park has a beautiful lake with ducks and geese.

I love his look of glee as he hoped off the slide!

Thinkers!

Oh, the merry-go-round was going fast!

And faster! Just look at his face!

Of course if there are trees, my monkeys will climb them.

Check who is up there?

Do you see Raphael at the very top! Yikes!

A huge excavator was parked right at the entrance of the park. Isn't it any five year old little boy's dream to have his picture taking in front of such a marvelous machine?

As soon as we got back home he ran to his room to play with his new market stand.

Then we had ice cream and cake. Yum!

How I wish we could have share with Grandmaman!

Bonne Fête, GRANDMAMAN!

Praying for Heather

Please pray for Heather, a 34 years old homeschooling mother of three, who is having brain surgery today for a brain tumor. I was especially touched by her words here and here.

Please consider lighting a prayer candle for her.

And Look What Happened Today

Madame Alfred Carrier

Fairy Roses

Joseph's Coat
Not too surprising with temperature in the nineties! And Lydia did spend a good part of yesterday morning caring for them.

May 1st, St Joseph the Worker

Saint Joseph, Foster Father of Jesus Christ, Head of the Holy Family, Patron of the Universal Church,

Patron Saint of a Happy Death,

Pray for Us!

From A Year With God

On the first day of May we love to make May baskets. It is one of many traditions we delight in to create A Time to Keep for our children. However, this years there is no roses in bloom to grace our baskets. But, to our enchantment, as if it new that this is the beginning of the lovely month of Our Lady, a single bud on one of our peonies slowly unfolded throughout the day into this magnificent flower. This single blossom on the first day of May is like a sweet promise of the many more to come during this glorious month of Mary.

Like so many friends inspired by Alice, the queen of crafts, we made a Marian May Cone for Dominique's godmother.

Again, just like last year, the children made greeting cards, this time using lovely scrapbook supply. Dominique also made one for his godmother to give with the May cone above.

Joyeux 40e Anniversaire Xavier !
